Do you subscribe to a low sodium diet? There are all sorts of reasons that some choose to reduce to lower the amount of salt in their diets: to lower risk of heart disease, help reduce swelling, and more. While I have no problem using salt on my meals, there is a good reason to cook without sodium (or with a reduced amount) on some occasions: you learn to appreciate the natural flavors of your foods. Oversalting can dull the taste buds and you can miss out on the delicious taste of fresh herbs and veggies!
Whether you are trying to reduce your sodium intake or simply want to retrain your taste buds to appreciate new flavors, I think you’ll enjoy this collection of low sodium recipes. All of them include fresh veggies you can purchase at your local farmer’s market (the Mar Vista Farmers’ Market is my favorite). Enjoy – and I’d love to hear what your favorite low sodium recipes are in the comments!
